I’m lucky that my grandmother, the most devout Catholic I know, has always supported questioning the Church. When I can have a serious conversation with her about homosexuality, in full knowledge of the stance of the Church, and she’s contemplative and questioning, it gives me hope. Hope that the people of faith have more impact, thoughtfulness, and Christ-likeness* than the doctrine of any church, Catholic or otherwise.

*God-likeness, Krishna-likeness, Allah-likeness…you get the idea.
