My KC lady friends and I started this ‘real girl, real talk’ beauty tumblr & this is my first post. It’s young, but we’re nothing if not thorough in our reviews!

The Southern women in my family, well maybe just Southern women in general, have a saying, “I’d just like to slap some lipstick on her!” when they’re talking about a woman who just can’t bother with her appearance. Slapping on some lipstick is about the easiest and most foolproof way of perking up your face when you can’t bring yourself to do anything else.
It’s summertime, and the last thing you might want on your lips is heavy color, so I give you Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain (what a mouthful!). These juicy colors are perfect for summer and beyond, and it’s all in the name - they feel like a balm, but color like a stain. They’re very wearable, and you can pump up the color by really layering it on. They’re also great bases to other lip colors you may have lying around. Need something to be more coral? Throw Rendezvous underneath and punch it up. If you want to go all ladylike, throw on a little BB cream (I love Garnier’s) & some mascara and your summer face is all set.
I know what you might be thinking though. Four of them, Ellen, really? Yes. Since this is my first post here, you should probably know that I have an addiction to lip colors. In fact, one of my moments of crowning glory was during a new product training session when I was a Laura Mercier makeup artist (free makeup during college? Yes.). All of the artists in the room were asked to count the lip colors in their handbags and share the number. I beat everyone in the room (20ish people). So, I have a vice. Don’t we all?
Now, there are 12 colors and they’re priced at $7.50-$9 each at your local CVS or Target. They have a very slight minty smell but no taste. If you’re curious about the colors that are available, I suggest Googling “Revlon Just Bitten Balm Stain swatch”. I do this all the time for new products and colors that you might not be able to test, like drugstore makeup. It’s a great way to see the colors and hear reviews on consistency, smell, wear, etc..
The next time you want to just run out the door without doing a damn thing, slap on a little stain balm and go. You’ll thank yourself when you look in the rear view mirror and see how cheerful you look.
