"Hey, uh, this is [random name] I met you a few weeks ago at [some bar] and I wanted to see if you wanted to get together for dinner or drinks. Give me a call…
I love getting phone calls, weeks later, from random guys who’ve gotten my number. Seriously, if I were that important, you would have called before now - and if you were that important, I would probably be able to recall your face. Since we both know none of this is true, I’ll do us both a favor and hit delete, kay?
…this word…means “a look shared by two people with each wishing that the other will initiate something that both desire but which neither one wants to start” in Yaghan, one of the indigenous languages of Tierre del Fuego. It’s also listed in the Guiness Book of World Records as the “most succinct word”. (via nostrich)
Who knew that there was a word that existed for the endearing yet awkward silence at the end of an amazing date?
“Sometimes, love lost does not hurt half as bad as a love that never had a chance to grow. Sometimes you meet people that change everything, but more often, you change everything for someone you never even meet.”—
“If ever there is tomorrow when we’re not together, there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we’re apart, I’ll always be with you.”—
There should be a spy-o-meter that lets you know what guys you hooked up with, gave your phone number to the previous weekend, etc. are thinking of you and how often. That would help out with a lot of unnecessary thinking on my part, that’s for sure.
As usual, you're beautiful. One of the reasons I like...you unkempt, unmade, is because -and I hope this doesn't offend you- that is how you'd appear if we were together: at night, before bed; in the afternoon, after being outdoors and sweating; in the morning, before getting up. In all the best emotionally and physically intimate moments, a woman is unmade and disheveled. In the best of all, she's sweaty, too: slick and glistening and totally undone.
Hell yes! L, I hope that someone said this to you and you didn’t just read it in one of your lovely books (but if you did, I wanna know what it is)! This one is a keeper, whether is it from a man’s mouth or hand!
“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You’re on your own. And you know what you know. You are the one who’ll decide where to go.”—
